Everything here comes from ASIC's AFS Authorised Representative Dataset and its AFS Licensee Dataset, published on data.gov.au under CC-BY 3.0 AU and collected on 2026-08-19 through the portal's own API.
362,694 authorisation rows became 237,078 representatives, joined to 4,474 named licensees.
The join that fails if you take the fields as they come
Representative rows record the licence as 000226403; the
licensee file records it as 226403. Joined literally, the two
registers share nothing at all — 0 matches out of
6,904. Stripping the leading zeros gives 4,474. It is
worth saying out loud because anyone doing this by hand will hit it.
⚠️ Three things this site will not say
- “Licence cancelled.” 2,430 licence numbers here are absent from ASIC's current licensee file. We have no cancellation dates and no reasons. The site says not in the current file, and stops there.
- “No longer practising.” 187,346 representatives have no authorisation in force. They may hold a licence themselves, appear on another register, or have retired. The register cannot distinguish those cases and neither can we.
- Anything about the merits. Being on this register is a legal fact, not a recommendation; being absent is not an accusation.
